I always enjoyed doing pencil drawings.  I tell my students that it is important to be able to draw well if you want to do an excellent paintings.  This is one example of drawing I did with one of my student.

"Serenity in Blue"

Once in awhile I take a break from doing realism painting and do abstract.  I really enjoyed the challenge of coming up with design and colors along with texture and movement in abstract.  This painting  measured 30" X 40" Oil on canvas.

Another demonstration of watercolor that I will be teaching next week. 

"Are You Kidding Me?"

Another pencil drawing I just completed two weeks ago.  It is nice to take a break from painting and work with pencils.  I stressed so much to my students - draw well and you can paint well.  I loved the expression on this face. Enjoy!

Watercolor of Tropical Paradise

It has been awhile since I have blog - been busy with teaching and going back to school. I did a watercolor demo for a student a while back and thought I would share this with you all.  I wanted to created a feeling of casual and loose environment so this is what I came up with.  I wish I could be there right now.  Thank you for viewing this.

Pencil Drawing of Tree

This is a pencil drawing I have started years ago and came across it the other day and decided to finish it.  I stressed to my students the importance of working with pencils before learning to paint.  Using pencils as a medium is so convenient when traveling or just need to relax practicing. 

"Pittman's Retreat"

This commissioned painting was just completed two days ago.  The client send me a photo of their cabin in Durango, Colorado and I used the photo to created the painting.  The backdrop and the aspens in the painting is magnificient!  Loved those colors!  Happy to say the client was awe and is giving it to his wife for Christmas.  Merry Christmas everyone!
