"No Man Knows"

Just completed a 11.5" X 48" painting of "No Man Knows".  This is of my first long canvas for a Spiritual Series Paintings.  When this was done - it was just in time from all the rumors about the world coming to an end May 21st.  Being a Christian myself I knew that wasn't going to happen as in the bible - Mark 13: 32-33.  No man knows, not even Jesus or the angels knows.  So this is where the name of the painting came from.

"Twelve Disciples"

This is the second painting I entered in the competition - my favorite of the two.  It is measured 24" X 36" oil on canvas. The twelve poplar trees in this piece represent the twelve disciples in the Bible whose role is to carry a message of hope to people around the world.  The foliage of diverse sizes and levels in the painting represents people of all faiths; the different races and opinions; the diversity that makes the world interesting and unique. The main structure represents the church or the sanctuary where everyone is invited to gather and learn from each other; a place that offers rest for the weary, help for the lost, food for the hungry, help for all. The blue door on the building represents calm and relaxation. The moon, which is larger than normal, provides a bright light to show the way. The artist uses many colors in this painting, but is careful to make sure that they all relate to each other and co-exist well in the painting together.

"I Am Who I Am"

Just completed this painting "I Am Who I Am" measured 24" X 36" oil on canvas.  This is one of my two Spriritual Series Paintings that I entered last Wednesday night for a competition in San Francisco, California.  Should know by the end of May if I got accepted.  In this painting there is a lot of movement within this painting. The use of diagonal lines in the plowed field, the contour of the green field in the foreground and the road leading to the structures represent the busy lives we all lead and the endless activities each of us face each day – always doing something till we feel exhausted. The buildings represent a sanctuary – a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life, a place that offers solitude, peace and rest.

"Yellow Roses"

This painting is another example of using the Russian Impressionist techniques.  I love the way it is loose and yet it is controlled in some areas.  There is much more to learn and hopefully I will get there someday.  The painting of "Yellow Roses" measured 18" X 24" and is oil on canvas.

"Yellow Roses"

This is a small painting 8" X 10" of the Yellow Roses that I set up in the studio for my students.  I liked the transparent of the glass vase and may have to modify the colors in the table cloth. I am going to use this study for a larger painting soon.  Will post that sometime.
